 William D. Newell is a licensed consultant in medical hypnotherapy.
Through physician referrals he applies hypnosis for controlling weight, eliminating
the smoking habit, reducing stress and improving skills. He has successfully used
hypnosis for eliminating phobias, controlling pain and improving nutrition. He also
uses meditation and "deep silence" prayer therapy.Mr. Newell has a bachelor of science degree from the University of Tampa and a masters degree from the University of South Florida. He is a graduate of the Institute of Hypnology with post graduate training in advanced hypnotic techniques under Leslie LeCron, Erik Wright, M.D. Joseph Locke, D.O. and David B. Cheek, M.D. He has also had advanced training at the Milton Erickson, M.D. Foundation for continuing education in hypnosis. He was the director and hypnotherapist for the North Tampa Counseling Center. He served as President of the Foundation For Effective Living, a meditation training institute and as executive secretary for the American College of Psychosomatic Research in Osteopathic Medicine and Surgery. He was awarded a fellowship for hypnotic research under the direction of Dr. J. B. Rhine at Duke University. He served as counselor trainer for the Counselor Training program at the University of South Florida. A former resident of Tampa, Florida, Mr. Newell and his wife Carol have lived in Hernando County since 1978. They have two children; Martin and Deborah and four grandchildren; Veronica, Adrian, Ben and Celina. |
